I'm barely working on a CV2 hack, but I'm really having problems staying motivated.
You know, if Final Fantasy had been a PC game, you could have paid a flat rate to use the game's "engine" and modify it to your heart's content (as you have done), and you would've been allowed to legally release this as a commercial game.
I never had any aspirations of making money off my hacks. DXOII was an attempt to see how far we could push a non-trans ROM hack regarding scope of changes and quality, and I think we set a pretty high bar with it. That alone was satisfaction enough.
*edit* I have been kicking around the idea of merging DXO and DXOII into a single game for the PC, with
far more story development and such. But I think that'll remain a pipe dream.
