Hi i was looking all over the net for English translations of "Super famicom wars" and had no luck what so ever.So i did some more digging around and found out it was a download game from a satellite service in japan called Nintendo power,so that got me thinking is it even possible to "hack"Super famicom wars or has no one got around to doing it yet,if so that sucks cause its a good game, even a Menu hack would make me a very happy guy

I don't know if anyone is actively working on it or anything, but we do have a translation request thread if you'd like to add it to the list: thread here

I actually looked into it in the tile editor in the hopes that the menu was probably stores as uncompressed graphics. No such luck.

I think there's some graphics that are in 2bpp format that aren't compressed, but I think most of them are.

There was a translation in the works years ago that was never finished and as far as I know never released incomplete, either; I semi-found the old web site on Archive.org, but the pictures weren't saved, and since a page of pictures was all that was ever shown, it's pretty pointless to look at. Link is here. I guess there's an email address on that page, someone could check if that's still active and see if they can get a work in progress version of his translation, if one even still exists. EDIT: Heh. EDIT2: I found FH's home page. It's possible he might have a version of it around since he helped with the VWF, but his site hasn't been updated since 2006 (better than 2004, though). Email address is on his site if anyone wants to give him a shot. I guess I'm pretty bored, I'll try them both. Fingers crossed.

That's pretty nice! I look forward to a translation, whenever it happens.

LOL, Hetler! I didn't know someone started a translation. I didn't really like Super Famicom War much anyway, Advance Wars 1 was more fun IMO.

Man, I wish there was some copy floating around somewhere, or at least some notes on their work, so that I could look into translating the thing too. I've always loved the game--while it's certainly not hard to play in a different language, it's always nice to see it in your native format ^^
