Thinking it might be the rom...  In the read-me, it says to use a japanese hard type rom that has not had the J2E translation patch added to it.  Now, when I was looking for a rom of that type, the only thing I could find close to that was something named Final Fantasy IV (J) [h1].zip.  Now, I am sort of new to this, and that was the only thing I could find that seemed like it could be a non-translated hard type version.

Anyways, I tried using both Lunar IPS and SnesTool to patch it to that, as well as just a rom named Final Fantasy (J).zip.  Also tried using znes and snesx9, but it came up as corrupt in both.  Redownloaded the patch just incase and repeated the steps, and still nothing.

Any clue as to what might be going on?  I have patched other snes related things before, and this has not happened to me >.>...  I'd give up by now, but I am very interested in this particular patch.

... Don't you mean FFVI? IV is the one with Cecil and Rydia and Kain.

Eh, it is suppose to be a hack in FFIV, that replaces Cecil with Celes, and Rosa with Terra, among other things.

The "hardtype" ROM is the original game FF4. The "filename" you are referencing is a hacked FF4 making any run insanely easy.

You need a good copy of the ROM to patch against. Use NSRT for your own good (it's in the utilities section of RHDN). It's also amusing that you are butchering the names of the emus.

You're patching the wrong version, that's for sure. I'm not sure if this patch is expecting a header or not, but NSRT can deal with that if necessary.

1)  Hardtype ROM is just "Final Fantasy IV (J) [!]".  Try to avoid any kind of [h] symbols (those mean "hack", not "hard").  Avoid [o], too.

2)  Don't patch the .zip.  Extract the .smc file from the zip and patch that, then rezip it if you like -- but don't apply the patch directly to the zip.

Thanks for the help...  Btw, I wrote that message in quite a rush, so I am not really surprised I butchered their names.
