(sorry if this is in the wrong place?)

Well, I'm trying to make a version of Pokemon Gold. I have numerous tools already, namely "PokeText" "Goldmap" "GoldMart", an editor for the starter Pokemon, and an editor for the sprites of the characters.
Everything has worked fine so far, it's been great fun and is going to plan. But I've just today realized some things;

-I don't know how to change which Pokemon rival trainers and Gym leaders use.
-I'd really like to change the actual Pokemon sprites so as to make my own Pokemon.(and of course after doing that I'd need to know how to change their names, the moves are not so important)
-In GoldMap, some places are not available for editing.

Do any of you have any advice/links that could help me out a little with these problems? Editing the Pokemon sprites and names is the main thing.

The issues have been resolved, as I'm going to use a Pokemon Sapphire ROM instead.  Smiley I have a lot more tools for Advance Pokemon Games.
