Does any know of a photo editor or plugin that lets you load / edit 1 bit per pixel images in raw format? As far as I can tell, Paint Shop Pro only supports 16bpp and Adobe 8bpp.

Have you tried Tile Molester?  It has a bunch of 1bpp viewing codecs.

Thanks for your reply akadewboy. Tile molester does work but I have a decent amount of text to enter into graphics at this format so I was hoping for an editor that supported text typing. I can manually create my own font and cut and paste each letter with tile molester but it'd be quite a lot of work!

I don’t know of any such plugin, but I’m sure you could write or get someone to write a quick-and-dirty program to convert it to, say, PCX or BMP or some other simple format.

GAH brainfart. FEIDIAN was designed for just this kind of dilemma. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it’ll insert the darn finished product once you know what you’re doing!

Thanks BRPXQZME! I don't know why I didn't think of that myself Tongue

After a little research, I found that Wireless Bit Map (.wbpm) was the perfect format.
All I had to do was add a 6byte wbmp header to my raw data and viola! Displays perfectly Paint Shop Pro. WPBM 1bpp header is very simple, just horizontal width / vertical length.

Thanks to both of you for your help this will save me a boatload of time
