Alright well basically, i want to translate a game called Chantelise from japanese to english. But i don't have any programming experience and i really like this game, it's the only game i've gone this far and actually posted a message in any kind of forum to ask for help. If anyone is willing to give me some pointers, point me out to a tutorial or show link me to some resources it would be really appreciated. The translation itself isn't really a big problem right now i just need to beable to have access to the files so i can start to edit it. I'm a fast learner so don't feel you need to simplify things a lot for me. Any help would be great, Thanks everyone.  Smiley

Is it a Visual Novel? Then you can forget the links I posted earlier. Instead you'll need to reverse engineer the package format, which could be either very easy or very difficult. In any case you would need programming skills to create an packer/unpacker yourself.

Hmm it's like Ys if you've heard of it. Like Action/RPG or a Hack and Slash RPG basically like Ys Except the world/background is 3D and your character is kinda 2D aswell as the enemies though they kinda look a little 3Dish. Here's a screenshot, i don't know if that will help or not but i figure it couldn't hurt http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1488/chantelise20281029rm5.jpg

EDIT:

Alright i've been doing a bit of looking around and i finally found what i needed and things are going pretty smooth now. But either way i appreciate you taking time to help, i'll ask for more help if i need it if you don't mind. Anyway thanks. Smiley
