Hi, I'm new, and as you can see I'm in a similar boat to sketch, of the "rent a hero" thread appearing near this one. The game I'm after is the remake of "Dragon Warrior Monsters", which is a remake of a gameboy game on the psx. It is mostly a graphical update, so there's not so much translating involved, just a little here and there. I'm looking to hire for both these jobs but I must say I can't offer quite as much as him, though I might say that this more plausible offer is more likely to have a bit more commitment than he who hasn't posted since early january. Three digits is fine, post first, then we'll talk. I'm fine with whatever method of payment you feel like, though I'll raise an eyebrow or two if you want it in gold buillion. I must insist that the resulting file be compatable with the psp, via Dark Alex's psx game converter or what.

There was some very justified suspicion of sketch as to what he'd do afterwards, and I'm sure there'd be even more of me, so I'll explain why I like it so much in a way I'm sure you'll all identify with. Like sketch, I suspect, I just find myself with money I don't know what to do with. I almost exclusively play RPGs and always finish them, so I don't spend an awful lot on games. This one just came at precisely the right place in my life to become not quite obsessed with it, but infatuated enough that I return to it like brokeback mountain whenever I need a fix. It's one of those games like Dungeons and Dragons or world of warcraft where, if you are obsessed with it, it is the most fun thing in the universe. I have no illusions though, it's a pokemon ripoff with an added gimmick, but it means so much to me. It may very questionable to want a game translated when it is really only a remake, but if you look at both of them the psx version is so much more beautiful. It's an obscure little job, of interest these days only to serious Dragon Quest enthusiasts and nostalgia junkies like me, which isn't an awful lot. Don't think me a scammer, I beg you, it'll save so much time.

So, who's up for it? All questions welcome.

PS Why does the spellchecker not recognise "psx"?

I played DWM on the GBC when I was a kid. It was fun.

I could’ve sworn I saw a “I & II” package in Wal-Marts a ways back, but the Interbutt disagrees with my memory, so I suppose I remember wrong....

I’d be up for translating if I really knew more about the DW series, but I don’t.

Know anyone who does? I'd also like to hear if anyone knows anyone who might be up to this.

I'm not sure, but I believe someone is already working on it.... Give me a moment...

Yeah, DaMarsMan is looking into it, though it seems problematic..

Well gee. Thanks for this, I suppose this is now a pretty redundant thread, sorry. But if these guys are so wanting for extra talent and need the money, I'm sure they can give me a call  Smiley
