Hello, everyone.  The Front Mission 5 English translation project has commenced under the wings of LegaiaRules of the GameFAQs forums.  Some work has been done so far and we've managed to find actual game text in the game data files.  We could use some assistance in this effort to make Front Mission 5 in English possible.

P.S., I apologize in advanced if we're from GameFAQs but to play Front Mission 5 in English has been a dream for me since Square-Enix America hates Front Mission with a passion.  This game will never be released outside of Japan, unfortunately.

It's good to see a project moving forward on this game. It really is one of the best FMs. If you want, head on over to the Personal Projects subforum and create a topic for this. Throw up a screenshot or two, and keep us updated!

Hey I just recently joined and I am also interested in becoming part of this great community. Also providing feedback and contribute in anyway, shape or form as best of my ability. If you need any help I can do translations. I speak 3 languages English/Spanish/Japanese. I am also a big fan of the FM series and I also have experience in ROM editing and all that good stuff, But I will also like to improve with more skills.

peace.

I will definately be following this project Smiley To not release FM5 in english is a very stupid mistake by SE. Unfortunately i do not know japaneese. Though im quite skilled at english and have some programming skills, unfortunately no experience rom hacking. I see that theres already a trasnlated interface patch out from this project. Impressive! Ill test whatever you guys release and give feedbacks on any grammar errors or glitches i find.

hmm, this translation seems to be drawing attention with people joining to post and all. You should take that as a compliment.

It's nice to see that there are still so great people on this earth, working on freetime to get a english version to us though some of you probably could play this without a trouble in japanese, talk about respect! It's been a dream of mine for years to get to play an english version of FM5, so i'll pray that this project will be successful!

This is LegaiaRules from GameFAQs. At where the project stands, the next step is to translate the in-game text. The gameplay part is largely done and the interface the same, though changes can be made without too much difficulty later on. What we need are programmers who can find a way to allow us to translate the text without running into technical issues. megaten already explained the situation in his posts so if any programmer has free time to help out with the project, the help would be most appreciated.
