anyway to hack to play as boss in this version only , as i feel that the bosses are very strong  |

I recall some (extremely glitchy) Game Genie code that would allow for boss control back in the day. I only tried it out a few times, as it caused weird graphical malfunctions (black squares, etc.) and Turbo had already been released...
I suppose the good news is that it's ostensibly possible; you just need to track down that GG code, analyze what it does to which part of the ROM, and then go from there!

This guy popped into the site's IRC channel earlier asking this... He's wanting to hack the CPS-1 version of the game, despite 1: No knowledge of ROM Hacking (He didn't even know what a hex editor was), and 2: No knowledge of 68000 assembly or the CPS-1's A/V hardware.
I'm not even sure if a hacked MAME ROM would be recognized by MAME at all unless you were to change the checksum to reflect the current ROM data in the source and compiling a custom build.

It should, I've edited ROMs with Turaco before and had no problems running them. Unless something about the CPS-1 would make a difference. |

Surely  Really, if you want to achieve what you propose, either learn to do it, see the "Help" section in the left sidebar, or post a request in this thread. Or get Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition, you can play as any of the 4 bosses in that version. |

 What you're looking for is cheat.dat, and a version of mame that will use it. Mameplus or so. Cheat.retrogames.com -- the compiler's website-- doesn't seem to be working for me, but I'm sure there are other sources of it. And Street Fighter 2 is really old, so you wouldn't even need one of the newer versions. No, I'm not going to give you support, and no I'm not going to tell you how to use it. Ask on the Mameplus forum or something. |

Ask on the Mameplus forum or something. ok i have downloaded the cheats and started using it but the game crash when i activated my cheat in the player vs player screen, and b4 it fights, the game crashes any1 can help |
