Any hope of this Game ever being translated? Awesome game on NES but the enhanced Turbo CD Version Translated would be Badass!

It is indeed the second best rcr ever. The best version came out on some computer system from japan and had the same graphics as the nes but allowed more enemys and more areas.

I believe that would be the Sharp X68000.

Er, there are several Kunio games on the PC Engine.

You are probably talking about one of these:

Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari
or
Downtown Nekketsu Soreyuke Daiundoukai
(not sure which one)

In any case, translations of these are possible - but not really at the top of my radar for example.

The reason why I want a translation on another system is because the slowdown on the nes in two player is unbereable! And the localization is just not my thing.
Apprently the sharp version on that computer system is an easy hack. I talked to someone who did it but his hardrive crashed at like 90%. I wish he finished... Sad

Someone was looking at this game a while back (Pennywise?). The font(s) are compressed with standard LZSS format. I think someone said the text strings are uncompressed, though.

More attention needs to be payed to the kunio games that got localized.

There is a proper place for these sort of questions.

But this topic has ended up funner because we are talking about the best version, which should be translated, why it should be translated, why it should be translated over the other etc. Great stuff.

So you don't like Alex and Ryan? Or Crash Cooney? SCANDALOUS!

Seriously though, none of those two games had that many changes between the Japanese and US versions, other than the very first Kunio game (which got a total story makeover, and was the reason why I translated it).

A complete sprite makeover, a plot rewrite (Note I really like the plot of the original rcr in japan) and ummm... Yeah thats it.

Just watched a Video on YOUTUBE for Downtown Nekketsu Soreyuke Daiundoukai. Looks like some sort of on foot Racing version of RCR where ya beat the crap outta each other . CRAZY! Mario Cart on foot.
Can't beleive i never saw this Spin off game. When i first posted i was referring to the one that appeard in U.S. on NES but this game would be awesome too!

Ah OK... I was wondering which one you were referring to at first.
