Before we get started I want to say I know absolutely nothing in regards to checking in game code. I also performed a basic search to see if anyone else had posted asking anything similar. Since I couldn't find anything I decided to make a topic on it.

I'd like some confirmation on some data provided to me. I'm not sure if the individual actually knows what he's doing or just said something to sound smart. The only friend that I know that knows anything about ROM hacking, doesn't have that kind of ROM hacking skills to confirm this. Any help on the matter would be appreciated. Here is the important tidbit that user said.

"Guaranteed stat level ups are at 0x223ADC, and the subroutine dealing with level ups is at 0x072358."

If it does end up being correct could you post the subroutines and guaranteed level ups?

While this is the general hub for ROM hackers, I would strongly suggest that you start by wandering our document and utility pages for some information on your game. Should that fail, I personally have often had a great deal of success by typing in "Your Game ROM hacking" onto google. It tends to bring up at least a stray topic or two.

I have data, but not about the level up routines or anything.  Mostly events and items and magic data, and beginning stats.

I'll assume you've posted it here: http://www.datacrystal.org/wiki/Main_Page

Sadly I couldn't find the information I wanted using either of the methods.

Come back to us at the forums Jiggly. We miss you. D: Also regardless of the amount of data can you confirm or deny if what that guy said was true? :O
