Hey guys, I need some help. I'm thinking of making a level editor for the Super Mario All-Stars remake of Super Mario Bros but first I need to find out how to edit the attributes for each level in the game, how do I do that with a hex editor?

SMB1, huh. Well, right now SWR has all the info and some of them from me.

http://insectduel.googlepages.com/Smas1data.htm (Incomplete) Unfortunetly, I have the completed written data, but my computer is broken to host it until further notice.

But you have to see him at Justus 2 Board if you want the SMAS Data. But he is now named, Jack Skellington. But I could give him a notice on my MySpace account.

something you might consider also is just making a program which rips SMB levels out of a NES rom and inserts them into the SMAS rom.. then you wouldn't have to make a whole level editor and could just use SMUtil.  That is unless you want to make the level editor Smiley

i wouldn't be surprised of the level data is exactly the same in both roms

The data in the game is NOT the same as the NES version. Trust me. F objects in Super Mario All-Stars are different and there are 3-bytes to edit them in that order. Again, I have it but unable to host my document.

Castle Edits are extremely hard to edit than the NES version.  And the few other stuff that was not in the NES version such as backgrounds, music, etc. But all level headers remain the same.

Yeah, I have a few screenies about the SNES game which I'm going to finish my Afterworld 8 project really soon when my computer gets fixed up.

I hope Spel_Werdz_Rite did give you all of his data. A level editor would be nice too. Until I get my computer fixed and upgraded. I'll be able to give you my latest document of the game.
