I'm surprised no one ever worked on this one.
I'm not so advanced in rom hacking so any advice or doc is welcome, I always wished I could play as Andorre.

I actually just finished a hack of Mighty Final Fight for the NES, but it might not be the sort of thing you are after. Anyway, you can get it here if you're interested.

Dimi: nah I'm talking about the original one, even the snes version wasn't that good but I'll still check your hack. StreetTrash: OMG :crazy:OMG You can't tease me like that and not tell anything about it buddy. You'll talk willingly or under torture Judging from the screen it has to be arcade, is it CPS1 version by any chance?

There was some discussion on it a long time ago.
Apparently it was a very rare bootleg arcade machine.

Sorry for not having posted any info earlier. I was in a bit of a rush at the time.
According to the seller this was a hack, probably made in Mexico, using a normal original cps1 rom board.
The level arangement is different, and each character has a super in the same way that the main 3 do - and also a weird move which is like Rolento's grenade attack. The supers for the characters are suprisingly good and well implemented. Damnd has a spin attack for instance - similar to Blanka, where he goes across part of the screen like a human cannonball - it's what he does at the end of area one when he comes off the wall, but it's the spin attack that hits the opponents. Poison has a double summersault kick - she doesn't move from the spot, just summersault kicks twice in a row. Andore rushes across the screen, chest out, like he does usually, Holly Wood does that jumping upside down stab he normally does. Bred (I think that's him) does a fly kick foward.
You can't pick up weapons in the game at all. Your chosen character moves around quite a bit faster than the opponents.
The rom hasn't been dumped and the current owner isn't interested in doing so for the time being. He did mention he would try to take some video footage of it, but it's been a few months since he's said anything about it.

Wow now that's some infos! thanks for the input. It's a shame this one remain marginal, Final Fight is such a classic, and such a hack would be heard of among the fans. :'( Keep us updated if anything happen. Now... anyone with enough knowledge and bravery to attempt something similar?

You might be interested in checking out Final Fight Apocalypse, Final Fight Last Round or Hyper Final Fight 1&2. I think they're all based on the BOR Mod and avaliable for the Dreamcast.

I have no idea why anyone would not be intrested in having a cartage or other type of media dumped so as to keep it alive when the actual hardware dies or to share it with others. Sure it gives you that "I have it and you don't" thing but thats quite selfish. The only time I wouldn't share a rare thing by dumping it into a computer would be something like scanning a comic book or something where as you ruin the book in the scanning. You lose nothing and the world gains so much if you dump a ROM of something not yet dumped... It makes me sad.

Kinda besides the point, but I hear some arcade boards contain "sucicide batteries". That is, the ROM is encrypted. The encryption is stored in battery-backup RAM. If the board detects its being tampered with, it cuts the juice, wiping the RAM and taking the decryption code with it. The only reason I could see someone not wanting to dump it even for themselves, is maybe they don't know how to, and don't want to send it to someone. Or they're afraid of a lawsuit from the copyright holder. But since it's a pirate game to begin with, I doubt the case applies here.
