Ok, I'll try to do my best But, before I try it "the hard way", do you think that the "table dumper pro" posted on the site homepage could help in any way in this? EDIT: forget that comment, just read it is for 8-bit machines

I finally decided to split the file and browse the big file. I did found a font that appears thrice... but it's not the dialogs font, it seems... courier-ish. Appart from that, there is the Main Menu font... but not the one I need. Thanks all for your help... but I guess it's either translating the PSX version or doing PSP without the ñ.

Maybe you know this now but for loading big files into Tile Molester you should open your command window by typing "cmd" under Start->Run, and writing sth like this:
java -mx###M -jar XXX
where ### stands for the amount of megabytes you want to allocate for your file and XXX is the path to your Tile Molester jar file.

Hello again, I've been a bit busy as of late. I finally started translating the PSP version without the ñ xD. I guess at some point in time, I would learn how to make the "hacking" part, or find someone experimented who can do that for me. But for that time, I will already have the script part ready, only needing to correct the missing characters.
BTW, I have two questions:
1. Is there any place at the site where I can put a "Hi, I'm looking for someone to do X thing for me" kind of post?
2. I have a finished Parasite Eve (PSX) spanish translation, can I upload it on this site somehow?

1. Well, this post in itself is kind of that. You could also make another topic (although that might be frowned on, since you already have made this topic - if you edit the first post, you might be able to change the topic title to a clearer request) or submit a "Help Wanted" ad (which might get ignored - I have no idea whether people actually look at those or not. 2. There's a simple and easy submit translation form on this site, but you cannot upload a file directly - you have to give a link to where it can be directly downloaded (so it can't be a download service, like Rapidshare). If you don't have space somewhere, I suggest registering for somewhere like File Den, which wasn't much hassle for me and allows direct linking. Either way, good luck!

Ok translation uploaded, I'll consider the Help Ad later. Thank you! UPDATE: Ok, first problem solved! It turned out I was doing the right thing (changing the font in BOOT.BIN). What I didn't know is that EBOOT.BIN and BOOT.BIN are both the game executable, eboot being the encrypted & signed by sony (the one executed originally), and boot the unnencrypted and unsigned one. So I switched over the files and voilá! Font is showing up... (thanks to SoyWiz @ Tales Translations for suggesting it to me) But now that I have the characters, I need to find the font width table, because now it shows me this (for example): Opening question mark is not as wider as the original Jap char replaced, so there is a big blank space to the right. Anyone knows how a PSP width table might look like? I tried using the pixel width values and +1/+2 from several consecutive characters in the table without luck... Sorry to bother you all again, A learning noob. EDIT2: Nevermind, I figured it out, another stupid error on my side was preventing me from finding it. Typical noobish, I guess. Yay!

Well, I have progressed a bit on this. I have completed the in-game font customization, and now I'm looking at modifying the "text graphics", like the name of the places in the map, the "Objective: XXXX" messages at each battle start... I already extracted the files, now I only need to find fonts like the original. These are screenshots from the original graphics: Anyone know where could I download some ttf similar to these? The first one is similar to Adobe Garamond Pro, but looks more "handwritten" than the Adobe one. For the second, I do not have one similar (the Chapter I part, the subtitle are the capital letters from the first font).

You might want to try looking for a similar font at Identifont.
