DeMarsMan is right. There are like, sixty celebrities that I could have thought off that are better to quote than Mencia. He was funny for a minute. Like, his first stand up on CC was good. After that? Na.

George Carlin FTW!

But anyways. I do disagree with Mars on the topic of the names. Let's face it, with the exception of those drawn in by the Mockery crew, first time hackers are going to think we're some twisted mother fuzzers if we have programs like NEStical, Tile Molester, CLIT and the like.

Because they created it and they can call it whatever they want. I personally think the names are kind of funny. We are not a business here at romhacking.net and if you don't like the name of a tool than you don't have to use it. I appreciate a sense of humor in our scene.

Oh and by the way, Carlos Mencia may very well possibly be the least funniest man to ever walk the face of the earth.

A couldn't agree more, on both points. I laughed when I saw Tile Molester's name, and same with NESticle
Also, Mencia bugs me. A lot.

Why is that douche still on the air anyways. I saw a bit of it the other night and he was talking about how he was dreaming about shaq's wang. So tile molester is a bad name but that's not creppy?

I think I'll name my next program Mencia Molester

1. most nerdy programmers usually suck at anything artsy (naming, choosing colors, ...)

2. most nerdy programmers usually think being witty > being polite

I used ZCompress to extract the Graphics for Zelda 3 LttP yesterday , and the resulting files are in BIN format,  like GFX.bin.
In order to edit these I have to open these Bin Files.
What  I am trying to do is to extract all of the graphics from Zelda 3 LttP, I need to get the graphics into a jpeg or PNG file format, so I can use my Graphics Editor , Macromedia Fireworks 8 , to edit the graphics. I don't want to use Tile Layer Pro , because it writes directly to the rom and that will not work for me,

This is what I need,  a program that can handle the Bin File Format so that I can open those Bin Files. So I can edit the graphics I want to edit.
Please help.

I go for somewhat nonsensical names, generally.  Not because it's witty -- but because it makes for easier googling.

If you're wanting to reinsert the graphics into the ROM,  then that really doesn't make any sense.  In any case, open the BIN files with a grqaphic editor of your choice (one made for the actual ROMs, not Macromedia whatever) and set the mode to one of the SNES types.  There you go.  Any program should let you copy your selected tiles into your clipboard, which from then you should be able to paste them into a .PNG.

Anyone here remember the Neo Geo Pocket Color emulator called RAPE (Rather a Pokemon Emulator)?

Then make a backup of the game you are hacking.

The best answer is: quit using those overpriced programs.. They are only mediocre for pixel art anyway. Plus, they don't support tile graphics anyway. They are simply not built to work with the type of graphics that games use. Tile Molester and all those other tile editors are built specifically for it, so why not learn to use them...
