If this is your first, you should start with something simpler. Trying to hack a DS game first time out is like trying to armwrestle Schwarzenegger after a day at the gym. Try a GBA game instead: much of the same hardware mechanics are there (AFAIK).
Not to discourage you from doing Subarashiki, though. Square seems content to let this one remain Japan-only. Do you have any knowledge of Japanese? I.e., can you at least read the hiragana and katakana and identify kanji? If not, then you're really starting too early. Even if you intend to get someone else to do the translation, it pays to know the basic mechanics of the language.
I have 4 years of experience(Or around that), don't worry about me; I'm sure I can get a decently accurate translation done.
I don't know of any GBA games that I'd like to try though... Well, possibly Klonoa Heroes since I've never even played it; but I still have no idea what I'm doing...
http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5824&Itemid=2The next would-be huge game to release for the system will be Square-Enix's "Subarashiki kono sekai" (a Square-Enix representative at the Square-Enix Party event a few weeks back specifically told us not to officially refer to the game as "It's a Wonderful World", as that name is already copyrighted and will not be used in America), something of a brawler with RPG and rhythm elements.
Sounds like it might be coming this way in the future.
Eh, even if it is coming, they're going to do something to it. Possibly dub the voices, rather than keeping them T_T; but if it's coming, I could do something else... Like Tales of the Tempest? I'm pretty sure that won't make it here. =P

I still want to do this though... I mean, if it's difficult, and I get it right; I should be able to get the next one right... Right?
