Can anyone recommend a good hex editor for a beginner? I can't get Hexposure to work properly (I can't seem to access the menus... File, Search, etc.), and Thingy32 can't search for hexidecimal values in a file.

Windhex is pretty popular. Probably should be added to the Getting Started page, too.

I prefer Translhextion to pretty much all the other hex editors,; a lot of it's features are really intuitive. The only downside is it loads the whole file into RAM so bigger games are impossible to work with. Roll Eyes

Hex Workshop is easy to use, but it isn't free. Sad

i second Windhex32
there's another Windhex32 EX or something, it's not as good (yet)
