Hi, I'm new and I'm here because I need a little help.
At the moment I'm trying to translate Hunter X Hunter - Greed Island (for WonderSwan Color) from Japanese to German (and English). So I read a lot of tutorials and I think I understood them so far but when I start realtive searching some words from the game I just don't get a result (or not what I was searching for).
I searched for katakana words as welll as for hiragana words but it's always the same...
So what could be the reason ?

(sorry for probably bad english)

I suck at relative searching, lets get that out of the way. However, the only thing that I can think of would be perhaps that the ordering of the kana is not traditional, and therefore is out of "normal" order.

It would mean you may want to look at the game in a tile editor and see which order the kana tiles are stored in, and use that for your relative search. Or so, I'd imagine.

Trying look at it in YY-CHR and use it's different viewing modes. Might make things a bit more readable.

just use ctrl+left or ctrl+right till they become "readable" , this in TLP.

If it is sjis, you can use this table file:

is there a way to find regularities or to find sequences of hex-numbers that appear more often in the rom than others with a hex-editor ? Because the names of the characters for example have to be more often then other things...correct me if I'm talking bullshit
