So I recently migrated to linux, looked around for *nix tile editors, but couldn't find anything I liked quite like YY-CHR. Using it with wine, just about everything works... except copy+paste. Its normally not all that big a deal if you just want ot edit a few tiles here or there but I often use YY-CHR as a graphics editor and make tiles from scratch with it; and I like to copy & paste those tiles around in different formations to see how they match up and look, and then later paste the tiles into a rom to use at my convenience. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem or knows of a fix/workaround?

I'm not tile molester's biggest fan but I can't even get it running (always gives errors about certain files that it seems to want in the root directory. I do alot of NES tile-art and I would hate to not be able to continue :/

edit: also, assumint it matters I'm running Ubuntu 7.04, and wine-0.9.33

I know this doesn't really answer the question, but have you tried TLP?

TLP seems to work, dragging & dropping tiles does too. I was just never big on the interface, especially compared to YY-CHR. One of the reasons I was never big on tile molester either =P

edit: Juggling between YY-CHR and TLP sort of works  halfway good enough... =P
