Rather than trust that the ROMs I've downloaded are fully original dumps, I would like to dump my own ROM images.  I thought I could do this with my Flash2Advance USB to GBA link cable, but the software I've found seems to only interface with certain flash carts.

Will any other software work with this cable to dump a ROM?  XG2T software (http://www.gameboy-advance.net/flash_card/xg2t_software_users_guide.htm) looks promising, but I can't find it anywhere!

If this cable isn't viable at all for ROM dumping, what do you guys use to get your ROMs other than downloading them?

It seems to me that the first step to a good hack job is starting with a sound ROM image.  I hope to do that.

Most GBA roms are dumped using Flash Linkers.  http://www.gameboy-advance.net/flash_linker/gba_flash_linker.htm

Sorry, I don't know if that USB cable thing will work.  Just came in to answer at least part of your post.   Grin

The "Flash2Advance Linker" listed on that page is the exact item I have.

I dump my ROMs using my EZ-Flash II's linker with no problems. It's probably the flashing software as you said, you might want to ask at Pocket Heaven, someone there probably has experience with the cart.

A flash cart has nothing to do with this.  I am trying to transfer the ROM image from my original GBA cart.  Thanks for the link to Pocket Heaven.  It looks like this would be a little more on-topic over there.
