Do you know anything about romhacking to begin with? Have you ever hacked anything at all?

If the answer is "no", then PS1 hacking is not for you, my friend.

Errr... I suggest hacking a game that has easy tools! XD

Or learn ASM, like the good Gods of Romhacking did. I sure as heck didn't, and I do very little hacking, so I'm not the most helpful source of information.

My hacking's actually only graphic/ palette hacks. :P To make the game suit me better. :P

Why do so many people just expect tools to be available for every hack idea and game they have?

Because they know nothing about romhacking and even less about how the games they play work.

That's a good question. When I first got started, I read the (outdated) documents at ZD and was having a hard time understanding anything but the basics, so I just downloaded the most up-to-date tools from every section and played around with them for a while. After figuring out how the tools worked, the documents made a lot more sense, and I moved on to games that had level editors since I was more interested in doing new levels than graphics and palettes.

It makes a lot more sense to start with something well documented than a game no one's touched before, once you know the more advanced side of things then you can move on to something that hasn't been done before.

so the guy is new at romhacking. hahahaha. look at the newbie.
if you don't have a constructive answer for the guy, you don't have to post in the thread.

... That doesn't apply to me, does it? :/ I was trying to give constructive... er... advice. And the command line thing... I'm still a little unsure of the terminology and was asking it as a God-to-honest question. D: (I'm referring to this post:
