A project I intend to work on has its script in Shift-JIS format. I've isolated where it is in the rom and everything, and I also have the Shift-JIS table from the download section.

Basically, being new to all this, I want to know the best method/apps to use to extract the script to an editable format, and to edit said script.

Shift-JIS is good, there's no need to play around just to use one-byte english letters Wink

You'll probably want to check out romjuice for dumping and Atlas for insertion. Alternatively, you could write your own tools for one or both tasks; Atlas can handle almost anything you throw at it, though, and both are open source.

That's all I was looking for, thanks.

Romjuice works nicely and I'm sure I'll eventually get to grips with Atlas Wink
