It's this new program that copies full sets of sprites to a jpg. Pretty cool for sprite ripping and making homemade games.

ugh, jpg? i assume this is a misunderstanding on your part? because jpg is a poor, poor choice for low-color sprites. png would be the way to go, in this case.

JPG means lossy compression. That basically means that sprites saved in JPG format will come out looking like crap. Tongue

Even GIF would be better.

well, jpeg doesn't necessarily mean noticeably lossy compression. they're just like MP3s. for example, ryusui's avatar and banner should be in jpeg. (see mine, for example.)

jpeg is pretty bad at anything where there is a need for sharp, clear shifts in color, and anything with really low area, though. which is why it's terrible for sprites Tongue

Thanks!! I agree with them. If the database size is big enough then BMP is better.  Anything but jpg. But if you want to, you can re-program it. Smiley

Duo just made a mistake, AnimGet saves the screenshots as BMP, not JPG.

yeah, by 'jpg' I meant 'image' and I never looked down far enough to find the submit files. Anyway, it's a really useful program. A while ago I posted something and one of the moderators uploaded it.

Yeah, you and everybody else who comes here.  Roll Eyes Nobody even knows what's on this site when they come here. Some people don't even know there are utilities here.
