Hey, don't know if anyone else has been following the BS Zelda Homepage in the past year or so, but they now have complete, English patches for both maps of BS Zelda, along with translated versions of each of the 4 weeks of BS Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets, which is listed as incomplete in the database here.  Didn't submit this as news as most of the translations have been done for awhile now, and you can find everything here:

http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/bszelda.shtml.

I've gotta assume I'm not the only one that's extremely happy to hear about this....

I've heard of this before. I tried the third quest, but I then got bored. Playing on the PC really bores me... Unless if it's Halo! O_O

Or FFIV, back when I was... *thinks* 11?

A decent gamepad does a lot for that. I used to use a Gravis Gamepad Pro (like an old-timey pre-Dual Shock Playstation controller); nowadays I just use an XBox 360 Wired Controller.

I was wondering If this should/could be submitted to the database, from what I can tell all 4 weeks of Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban [Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets] is fully playable in English

Seems like they are prepatched ROMs...

Is it possible to use a wireless one, via a play and charge kit? I don't have a wired one. >.>

Check in Section II, Game Downloads: C, Patch Files

They have just patches also, although there's like.. 12 patches to make the game playable... And have to be applied in a certain order...

I don't think I can submit a hack with that many files; should I grab them all, .zip them and submit? And include a readme with what the whole section says?

Yes, but I would vote for submitting the essential patches to make everything work as if the game was released as a standalone cart in North America. I really hate those guys choose to release a truckload of patches, instead of making a single one... oh well, at least they provide complete descriptions of what each patch does, so I guess I can't complain too much.

Why would you need to apply 12 patches to make a game playable? Why couldn't the author just release one based on the prepatched ROM? That's what he should have done and that's probably what should be done here. However,  I'd probably suggest trying to get the author's permission before making a new distribution.  And maybe check the readme files and see if they mention anything about distributions.

It's not really good etiquette to just make a new patch or new distribution of somebody's else's stuff without asking.

well the game consists of 4 roms for starters if I'm not mistaken, you would download the next segment each week, not continue on the old one. Hence there being 4. Still I don't get why there would be 12 patches, 4 would make more sense. so there are 3 per rom?

The first 3 are bug fixes, the 4th is the translation, the next 3 are optional (things like changing the main character to a girl and changing the characters hat to a green link hat), and the last one seems to be a cheat patch.

perhaps they should be released as different items, the 3 bugfixes being judges as those seperately, the translation standing alone, and the 3 optional ones being judged as graphics hacks.
