I've been writting programs to view ISO_9660 systems (woo) and now I've moved on to DVD (UDF IDF we all DF!)

So what is the sector size? It appears (hmmm appears) to be 2k? this right? suggestions welcomed.
It's interesting the the Primay volume descriptor is the same as a ISO9660.  The rest though might not be (thank GOD too ISO9660 is a PAIN).

Yep, 2048 bytes per sector. No integrity check at all, no control codes in the way. Just plain and simple data splitted in 2 kb segments.

I suspected as such, thank god. CD-ROM format is frustrating.  I know why they did it, of course when CD systems where coming out the cost of micro controller seemed too much.  So they integrated as much as they could into special IC's to "bring down the cost" of a 'simple' CD player (LOL). Nothing simple about them.

Anyhow obviously they learned this wasn't as good an idea when they introduced the DVD.
