Shaya has released the latest version of the Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 translation in English, and it's the best translation out there and spans the whole story, and only needs a bit of menu clean up and work with shop dialog and it will be complete. I know I'm happy! check out their forum here http://www.velthomer.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3120

sorry, they didn't really post any new screenshots, but for those waiting for the final chapters it was really nice ok it's like this Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi -Famicom which means Fire Emblem: The Dark Dragon and Sword of Light then we have Fire Emblem Gaiden - Famicom then Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo - Super Famicom, which means Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem this game is the third game in the series but is also a remake of the first, kinda like super castlevania. It has an extra book and updated graphics. *UPDATE* It is most certainly NOT like Super Metroid, because Super Metroid is NOTHING like Metroid and has a COMPLETELY different level layout and story, so I wouldn't make the mistake of making that connection, because it is very wrong, and people will call you for it then we have Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu - Super Famicom which means Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War this is a fan favorite, and also had Gunpei involved, it's got a really complex character interaction feature, and goes through a chronology of kingdoms, that leads directly into Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 - Super Famicom which is the fifth game in the series, the name is pretty simple really, Thracia is a country, and 776 is the year that it takes place, it comes directly between chapters 6 and 7 of Geneology of the Holy War, when Leaf is still young, but has a few new gameplay elements like fog of war and capture. Other than that the gameplay is the same. So Fire Emblem games are never really numbered, but there were 5 before the GBA ones, two on Famicom, and three on Super Famicom.

no, just a revisit, ok that was a stretch, it does have the initial same locations, I do want to say that Fire Emblem is not simply a remake either, there are additions, but it is still a remake, while super metroid is not.

then Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo - Super Famicom, which means Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem this game is the third game in the series but is also a remake of the first, kinda like super metroid or super castlevania.
OBJECTION! Please revise your testimony! (LOL) Ok, Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem contains the remake of the first Fire Emblem and an additional "Second Book" which is an entirely new story based on Marth's world. In addition to that, Super Metroid is NOT a remake of anything. Super Metroid may have been had the same setting and enemies, but still, it is not a remake... (Although the developers might've been going for that at first...) I cannot say anything about Super Castlevania, so I'll assume that information's correct. *Remembers to stop using emoticons*

I don't think I'd call Super Castlevania IV a remake of the original. Levels aren't even close to the same. Metroid Zero Mission is probably a closer remake to the original Metroid than Super Metroid. The world is similarly laid out, but the maps are different (doesn't repeat rooms, level designs now use some of the powerups from later games), and And save points, so when you die, you can live more than 2 hits (empty tanks and 30 energy points) after respawning.

yes, they are all more than remakes, this is the point I am trying to make! and yes, I agree, Super metroid is it's own entity. If I was trying to compare them to a purely visual remake I would have compared them to the likes of Mario All-stars, or Metal Max, etc.
