this is a rather weird topic, and i just had the idea from looking at different ROM things. a long time ago, my blue version cartridge was completely erased. the GBC screen loads correctly, and then goes to a blank screen. i was having some trouble with the cartridge before, so i opened it and cleaned off the corrosion from some of the parts, but everything is still attached correctly, the cartridge has simply been wiped. is there any way to get a ROM of blue version and install it on this cartridge?

Uh. You CAN'T wipe a game off a cart. The program is stored on it permanently.

What the heck did you do to it?!

I have a Crystal with unknown origins that does that. I think we got it at the swapmeet, the cart looks fine, but...it isn't. Shocked

lol..... long story.

OK, so i dropped it in a puddle, but i picked it up and dried it out, and it played fine for a while, but kept erasing. eventually, it just stopped playing at all, it wouldnt load right. so i opened the catridge up, and saw that all the little things were corroded. so i said to myself "self, you know some chemistry, what gets rid of corrosion? Acids!" so i proceeded to take some hydrochloric acid to it. now, im not stupid, it was dilute HCL, and i neutralized it afterwards, but the damage was done, the cartridge is empty. the gameboy boots correctly when its inserted, but it goes to a blank screen after the initial splash screen. if you guys think its possible to get a blue ROM, and load it onto the cartridge, i'll try to find something to connect it to my computer. hell, i might just load brown version on it rofl. think its doable?

A ROM chip is a little bit like a piece of paper: 99% of the ways you can "accidentally" erase its contents render the medium completely unusable. You've stumbled upon one of them.

In short: your Pocket Monsters cartridge is dead. Your repair attempt was akin to slamming a man into an electrified fence for want of a proper defibrillator. Your best option is to go to your local Gamestop or start hunting on eBay for a new copy.

...Or you could go hunting for a Game Boy flash cart and writer. >_>

Your cartridge died the second it hit the puddle. It didn't die instantly, but slooooooowly... But yeah, its dead. Go buy yourself another Blue version, or buy yourself the upgraded Green Version for GBA. Same difficulty, new stuff.

you know that could 'theoretically' revive some one, if you slammed them just right...

And it would be guaranteed to kill them otherwise.
