It had recently dawned on me that while not all players are so rude and/or underhanded, I was wondering if it's possible to make a demo that can be played over and over, but to install the patch over it will do you no good?

Again, I am making an FF hack, and I would like to keep people from leveling on the weakies in the demo and then wreaking havoc on the real game.

You could make it so the demo saves don't work in the final version. Add some sort of check for a byte or something on the final version; if it's not there, it won't load.

Either way, they could just load a savestate or something, so there's no real point in trying to stop the users from doing this.

Make a hack to where this isn't possible (Which is beyond your abilities, anyway), and I'll use this to hack my SRAM file however I please.

Make a hack to where the SRAM is stored differently (FAR beyond your abilities), and I'll crack the ROM open in FFHackster and edit just about *anything* however I please.

This is a stupid thing to worry about, as those who want to cheat, will cheat.

Ne-ver-mind, then. Didn't realize it'd be so hard.
