I did a run through of DXOII and made the game focus a lot less on level grinding, made enemies weaker, cheaped a lot of items, toned down some of the enemy gangups, etc.

It's not "easy", despite the name; DXOII v1.26 is pretty hard, so this would actually be more normal (For more conventional RPG players).

The question is, would anybody really be interested is this? Or is everybody just sick of this game already?

To be honest, I have extremely limited knowledge of DXOII because it was just too hard for me. I'm interested.

I would be interested. I know a lot of work was put into creating this game so I'd like to see the improvements that you made.

Well, I have a bit of a confession, I never finished DXOII, I got bored with the level grinding, so yeah, I'm interested in it.

DXO2 never really interested me all that much when I first tried it [around 1.0x or so]. I'm interested.

I'll give this a spin Boss, last time I played the original I made about halfway through the hack. I'll send this to my cousin right now, he's a big fan of the DXO series. Smiley

I haven't played this game very much yet at all, mainly because I am impartial to RPGs.  However I highly respect this game as a very complete rom hack, and I really hope games like these are sending a message to the rom hacking community to up their standards when it comes to reprogramming games. Not just hacking for the sake of changing a game, but attempting to create a very original full scale art piece in which a bit of every ambient aspect of the game is carefully and thoughtfully reassembled to perfection.

I like the idea of getting rid of excessive grinding. Keep doling out different versions of the game until people feel more and more comfortable with it.

Well that would be cool, Me and my brother usually team up on any new rpg we can get but after several hours of game play we got stuck somewhere, And quit playing it because it was just too hard well that one guardian in that thing that is kind of like a well was to hard and stopped us from proceeding because it seem the higher level we got on the tougher it became so I gave up with disgust for the monster. After that my brother got bored of it too, so we haven't played it for a while. an bit easy version would be nice thou.

Any chance there might be an easy version of DXOI? I got bored of it... Got lost around the world. Monsters so weak now that I can't level up but then I get to some of the harder places, boosh! I can kill a few... But then I die... Sad

I haven't tried II... Out of fear... O.O

Don't get me wrong though. The DXO hacks are really, REALLY impressive. Like REALLY REALLY REALLY.

DXO is really just as hard as Dragon Warrior was; I only tweaked the enemy stats slightly. DXOII was done from the ground up, and is actually a little harder than DW (v1.26).

Gideon Zhi is just about to finish playing through Easy Type, and says it's turned out pretty well. I'll add it to DXOII's main site later, and submit it to RH.net.

Don't take me wrong I do like dragoon x omega 2 alot,
It's much better then final fantasy I liked the single character part the most,
Thats one thing that always keep me away from the final fantasy series.
Because I am a hard core dragon warrior fan although dragon warrior has other characters in other versions,
It is still better to meet them along the way then start off with them.

i find that DXO II easy type to be quite good for casual players, sure they are some hard kinks like sia, but nothing that bit of level grinding cant do Tongue, but despite that, its certainly easier than original version
