Game Hackers' Database

Quote
Rockman and Forte    Super Famicom

The shop text, game text, and database text in that order. English characters are mapped to ASCII format, so you can add new English text simply by typing in a hex editor. (But watch out for carriage returns.)    38200?-40168?

What's that ?

Oh sweet! A page that has the start-end addresses! Tongue I dunno why I'm so happy since I don't plan on doing anything with any of this.

It means that starting at $38200 in the rom (the address you'd go to in a hex editor) the shop, game, and database texts are stored right after each other in plan old ASCII. Just open the rom in a hex editor, move the cursor to $38200 and you should see the text in the ASCII viewer to the right (unless your hex editor doesn't have one). It's basic hex editing.

Okay, great. I understand now.

One more thing, what is database ?  Datacase is cd that where we have to found 100...each character's files ? And what did "game text" mean ? What game text?
