http://policenauts.net/english/Apparently this group is going to release an English patch sometime soon of the PSX version of Policenauts. The website details are sparse, so... keep your eyes open I guess, if you're interested in the game, as I know many of you Konami freaks are.

I don't agree Kaioshin because junkerHQ has been working on it for a few years now and it's a big community.

Hmm, interesting project. I'd be more than willing to help them with some asm hacks, but probably they have already a psx hacker.

"While certain technical work remains to be finished..." The hacking? Maybe? No...

To paraphrase the famous saying... "TITS OR GTFO" In other words, unless they've got proof that the game is hacked... I'll ignore them. Anyone can translate a script. The hacking? That's another thing entirely.

I'm just as cynical about it, but stated a bit more nicely: it'd be cool, but unless they've actually dumped the script, I'm not holding my breath :/

From their FAQ...
What's taking so long? Do you have a more definitive release date?
The project started in 2002, yes, but it began with obtaining the game script from the discs. The actual translation of all materials took about 3 months. The rest of the time has been/is still being spent on technical issues. If we had a more concrete date, we'd gladly give it.

5 years? Damn, not even I took that long with Ys III. >_>

It seems their biggest problem is finding a capable hacker? I would think after 5 years whoever is head of the project would just learn to hack it himself.

I think they finally found one, otherwise they wouldn't have revived the site. Furthermore they have a tentative release now, so they must have thought of something at least to solve their problems in this time.
I await some screenshots of inserted text.

Finally it's getting done, that game has a hard compression scheme. I agree with Kaioshin though, I want some proof they they've actually done some hacking on it.
