I'm hacking Tokimeki Memorial and have successfully translated some text and I want to see if it actually works, in game. The problem is, is that I get errors when dumping, therefore I can't use the "dump and recompile" trick I would normally use. So I want to know, is there some program out there that will let you directly open the ISO, view the ISO and edit files and folders inside the ISO? Kind of like an archive?

CDMage beta. Google for further information. Also, forget to dump Psx games with a simple copy and paste if they contain any XA data.

Thanks I'll check all that out. Yeah, the XA and STR files are pretty much the only things I'm having trouble dumping, is there anyway I could dump those without error? If so, I could just use the recompile technique I usually use.

I'm not sure, but probably Pixel's CDTool can do that. There is a program of mine, too, but it's bugged and all in Italian, so it's almost useless here.

I have a question: Would CD Mage or CDToll be useful for completely removing sections of the game... i.e. I want to delete Final Fantasy II from Final Fantasy Origins in order to just stay with Final Fantasy I. How would I go about doing that? (I already tried deleting the FF2 folder... That just messed everything up).

I haven't opened up FFO and looked at it yet so I don't know but I'm willing to wager that the games' slus/scus executable or an outright *.EXE will contain the necessary code to load up which game the player chooses.  Again, I haven't looked at this game so this is just my guess.

Also, you could just replace FFII with YOUR hacked FFI and just have both versions available.  You could just try and replace FFII's data with FFI's data.  Crude...but I wouldn't be surprised if it worked.  The game title selection screens are probably stored in a TIM image format which is easy to replace/import.

Didn't the PAL version of FFO have the two games on seperate discs, or is that not the idea?

I don't want to hack FFI, I just want to separate it from II. How would I open the executable, then? I'm guessing I'll need a certain mastery in hexadecimal to accomplish the task, hm?

WHY do you want to separate them? If you don't want to play FFII, don't play it  Roll Eyes

Or just buy the European version, which has the two games separated. Cheesy

Well, I figured I could take out FFII out of it and make the iso smaller... Or like roms, that would have to be filled anyway?
