Hi! I'm new here. Hope to make new friends.

Most of you probably don't know my work. In fact I'm a kinda of a fraud... Have no idea of how people REALLY hack a NES game.. I only change some graphics and colors but I'm very happy just doing this.

This time I changed the visual of 1983's "Mario Bros", one of the first games for the Famicom and incredibly fun even today.

Just because I'm silly with a capital "S", I created the first japanese commercial for a hack. Smiley
You can check it out below to see how the game looks now:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBWUN5QAmSo

The game isn't available yet. But you can get it on 01-01-2007, when my new website will open.

Sorry about my English errors!
Hope you like it!!

... Dude.

Those graphics are AWESOME. (The game graphics, that is.) They're a bit dark but they look incredible.

Youtube and the Flash 9 beta for Linux don't like each other, apparently.

Mind uploading it to Google Video or somesuch, please?

I'm so happy to receive those positive reactions. Honestly. Thanks to all of you for spending some time watching the fake commercial!

Klarth: The only part of the video I didn't created was the music - it's from "Dance Dance Revolution with Mario" for GameCube. The other elements (animation, voices, drawings) are mine.

Kitsune Sniper: Thank you so much! I know it's kinda dark for a Mario game, but using black on almost every sprite was the only way to create the "this-game-is-so-colorful" illusion.

And アーダン: The GoogleVideo link is

Below you can see Mario's "before and after" the hack

Thanks again!

Edit: Sorry about the "Spider", Sniper Smiley

Now that's a real kick of a homebrew video. Nice work.

One question- what maze game is that kid playing when the buisnessman is holding up the famicom cartridge? I don't recognize it.

I saw this video before. At first I thought it was going to be Return of Mario Bros but then saw the awesome graphics.  I actually didn't know it was a hack until I read the description. Tongue

I am sooooooo patching my Mario Bros. when this comes out. Cheesy And you're no fraud. >_> The only hacks I've made have been graphics hacks and the LTTP Master Quest which wouldn't have been possible if Hyrule Magic hadn't existed.

How did you do that animation in the beginning? It looks stop-motion-ish yet also kind of CGI.

That was very cool though.
