I only recently discovered Akuji, and after reading all the info decided to use D's patch as opposed to the "supported" one. I got Ninja from D's site, I got the game from Buster's site, and I got the patch from here.

Now, I figured out that I have to patch the entire folder as opposed to just the .exe, but here's my problem: signs are still in gibberish (I assume it would be in Japanese script if I had the language pack installed), while things like the intro text and the power recovery text is translated.

The log output looks OK, doesn't indicate any problems, and I can supply it if necessary, but I did notice that it doesn't mention patching tk000.dat, nor tk001.dat, instead beginning at 002. Is there some file-nesting thingie I'm unaware of, or is this just an isolated incident?

The first few signs are actually in Japanese; they won't display properly until you AppLocale the program. Everything else is in English.

...When you're done, could you tell me what happens when you get a double-S rank?

So until a certain point the signs aren't translated? Huh. Weird, but OK. Thanks. And if and when I get to that point, I'll post it up, sure.

Only the tutorial signs are in Japanese, just FYI.

I have D's translation patch for it, and all my signs are translated...  I don't have the actual patch though anymore, guess I must have deleted that when I was cleaning up some odds and ends on here.
