Just out of curiosity, has there ever been any plans on hacking a Virtual Boy game? There are emulators and the roms are available here and there. Perhaps a translation for one of the Japan-only games?

Then again, there aren't exactly a lot of "lost gems" for the VB...

Well, there are sites that have technical docs and stuff for the vb, so it is possible. I myself, that I acquired a VB not long ago, am actually quite intrigued to somehow start hacking for that little bugger, it's just time consuming and pretty much no carts are available or anything, and me and soldering equals death

Anyhows, due linkage:

After clicking on Tauwasser's links, I have now realized what Nintendoland.com was talking about. Red... and Black... O.O Wow. At least there's emulators for it... At least some people may have done something, then...

I don't know if there is any hacks, but I know there have been homebrews. I seen an attempted Legend of Zelda remake on the old Red Dragon emulator forums.

Part of the problem is that the VB really doesn't have any accurate emulators. How can you emulate such a system on a computer? You'd have to cross your eyes or something.

I only tried out the system once, and it wasn't that bad, but it definitely suffered from design flaws.

I do know one of the rom editors I use has VB support... probably yy-chr.

Well, a couple of them (Red Dragon, for instance) have settings for using those good 'ol Red-Blue 3D-glasses. I don't know how good it works, since I don't have any at hand right now...
