First of all, my goal is to change Link's pallette from Pocket Nes Resource's Legend of Zelda Pocket Edition graphic update. (http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/117/

Actually, I already achieved this goal... The only problem is... ONE PIXEL! >.<

According to NESticle, this tile is #58. Problem is I can't even use Tile Layer Pro to fix this problem. Most of the sprites come out in gibberish... I assume its that the graphics are compressed? o.O

(BTW, Link in the original hack has an orange outline, I wanna change it to black!)

Please help!  Cry

No, not compressed. They aren't stored normally, you need to shift on a pixel-per-pixel basis. You said you are using TLP so hold control and press left/right until you get the tiles lined up. Then you should find your bad pixel.

O.O OMG!!! Cheesy It worked!!! I spent like three hours brooding over this one pixel! n_n And what's bad about NESticle?

BTW, since it's pretty much ready...
I need to learn how to use the URL tag effectively.

n_n Schweet. I hope I didn't make a bad newb impression!
(But RomHacking doesn't let me submit my file, even though I did all the required things!)

Everything.  It's extremely dated and criminally inaccurate.

Pick up NEStopia.  And if you want an emu with ROM hacking tools, pick up FCEUXD.

I have NEStopia and FCEU... I didn't try NEStopia and I sorta dunno how to use FCEU for hacking (but then again, this palette change is my second hack... >_>) Either way, I'll keep that in mind. Cheesy

FCEUXD has a tile viewer. It works just like the one on Nesticle, but you can't edit the tiles directly. You'll have to use Tile Layer Pro or a similar program to edit them. Smiley

It's also a lot better emulationwise. Give it a shot.

Heck, why not go straight to FCEUXD SP - wish I did it sooner. Tongue
