I am hoping to do a series of interviews with fan translators (both hackers and actual translators). Well, I say interview, but the format would be more like a conversation related to fan translation. This would be conducted over a service like Skype or Google Talk, recorded and published podcast-style.
If you would be interested in taking part, please let me know. The only condition that I'd like to put on this is that you should be experienced (e.g. have a complete project to your name or a significant amount of work done on a project/projects).

sa♥tsu, can you let us know what site this is for, or is it something you're starting up fresh? And do you see written interviews being an option if there's enough interest in that sort of thing? While it might seem like sort of a copout, I can see advantages in terms of info clarity and for those who do great work but might not be so confident in public speaking for whatever reason.

Like not being a native speaker and being ashamed of having a horribly thick accent

can you let us know what site this is for, or is it something you're starting up fresh? This is an idea for a new series, which I will distribute on my personal site. And do you see written interviews being an option if there's enough interest in that sort of thing? I'm not really keen on doing written interviews, though I'm not ruling out transcripts. Part of the reason why I want to try this is that there are either no or very few spoken interviews with fan translators (as far as romh acking goes), and additionally, the nature of spoken conversations can be very different from written conversations. I can see advantages in terms of info clarity and for those who do a great work but might not be so confident in public speaking for whatever reason.
Like not being a native speaker and being ashamed of having a horribly thick accent I'm not bothered by other people's zany accents.

This is an excellent idea; writing conveys a great deal, but speach is an avenue that we've never really had with this kind of idea. Assuming that parties are willing, this is something I'm very interested in listening to.
I've always pictured Kaio having a massively booming Norse God voice!

I would recommend that those who have mics take part in the interviews as it's a good opportunity for everyone and the community. So it has my endorsement.

I guess I'll participate. I'm a little camera-shy, but I'm going to be on the selectbutton.net podcast next weekend anyway, so eh, why not.

Try being a native speaker and having a godawful lisp. Fortunately, I'm not anyone relevant to satsu's interest for the purposes of this thread, though.

I might be able to talk WildBill into it if you need someone else. You could use me, but I've only organized a handful of projects, really.
