Goof Troop for the SNES. A puzzle game with a simple interface is always a good thing to hack, right?

The game I'm surprised that no one seems to be tackling yet is Lunar Pool for the NES. That game is an absolute blast, and from the general looks of it, easy to hack, although I do admit I've never really looked into it yet and actually tried to tear it apart. Maybe I'll have a go at it myself sometime in the near future... Cheers and good eats. :cookie:

The Fire Emblem series... especially fans that aren't Japanese. A bunch of tools have been made for various games in the series and a large amount of data noted and archived, but all the English speaking fans really, really suck at messing around with the series. Half of the people who do get arrogant really, really fast, and they start let their projects go to their head (it's like, ugly provincialism at its best, which isn't great at all to see ).

Super Bomberman 2. That game was awesome back in the day, and was the only bomberman game where you could move around in different shaped rooms, whether it be upwards or across. Also, not forgeting Super Bomberman 5, because that was an amazing game, where it merged the previous Super Bombermans into 1. I would like to try these 2 soon.

Experience has told me that something as simple as Goof Troop could have all sorts of compression involved. It does sound like a good idea though. Edit: So yeah, I literally spent about 10 minutes and found out that the level data starts at 48000 in the rom, AND the format is exactly like in Megaman. Furthermore, I found that the format is the base tiles for 4 rooms, then layer 2 tiles for 4 rooms, and then repeat. The game uses the same 2x2 type of tile format that most NES games use, so a modified Mega Man editor could easily display Goof Troop levels no problem. Now that I figured that out, I'm going to find out enemy sprite, block and throw items placement, and room order and exit data.

I'll say. On top of that I found the layer assembler and I found the warp data. No sprite data yet though.

There's a couple of NES ports of home computer games that had their title screens changed when they went to America.
Last Starfighter is a note perfect clone of an old C64 game called Uridium, right down to its bas relief effect graphics, where as Klash ball is an obvious rebadge of Speedball on the Amiga, but with more extensive bowldlerisation.

Some pretty good SNES RPGs are still untouched, like Bushi Seryuuden (from Gamefreak) and G-O-D.

Hebereke/Ufouria, out of all these games, needs a definate makeover.
In means of Levels, Testing out some unused stuff I posted on an old thread at the LostLevels.org forums, and customising graphics!
Maybe even extending it with MMC5 someday to Extend Characters (and optionally use ExRAM One-screen for Rendering),
It is Possible to use One-screen mirroring in Hebereke, But The only place you cannot do it is with the Final boss, and with NES attributes, They'll clash!
