Ok, so I need to make a patch for an FDS image and I figured the easiest way for the end-user would be to use Kingmike's expander program so the process would be easiest. Problem I can't seem to use to correctly and it's frustrating me.

Step 1 - Specify original file name. In this case I do Monty.fds

Step 2 - Specify expanded file name. I usually do Monty1.fds

Step 3 - Provide expanded file list. I type in Monty_expand.txt which contains

;0
C,2716
;9

Step 4 - Header info.

So after I do all that, the new image gets exponentially bigger and bigger. Like its caught in a loop. Just to make sure, I tried expanding Deep Dungeon following the instructions provided and the same thing happens. I have no idea what's going on here.

Sorry about that, I've tried at it's going to take a little looking to find the error.

That's alright, I'm not in a rush, but I am anxious to release my first non-NES translation. You won't mind if I include the expander with the archive?

I just approved a utility edit KingMike submitted which I'm guessing might fix your error. Seeing if I can post this post before he posts his post to let you know about his posting the utility.

Post.

That was fast.

I think it might have been a header issue. The old one expected a fwNES header (.fds size = ((65500 bytes per side)+16), while the new one should work without a header (65500 bytes per side) as well.
