The Akfek saga in particular would raise eyebrows.

ANOTHER idea would be the infamous FFVI FWAQ (Super Sabin, play as Megaman, Mario, etc.) ... which today, would be doable.

This would not look as good in a ROM hack (palette limitation, etc.) but...

No. Absolutely not. Implementing the Final Fantasy RPG in ROM format is going to suck hardcore. (And I've been playing it for years, so I have a pretty significant idea of what the hell I'm talking about.)

That's my favorite:



The jokes were great but the gameplay of that game sucked so hardcore. Perfectly suited to remake it into an adventure game.
