What some would call the 'taboo' project.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex9wMh4Beh4

I am always seeking Temporal Flux Jedi masters to teach this padawan a thing a or two in Temporal Flux!
Also a slight warning, I'm a tad on the 'silly side' when it comes to my hack. There is a lot of humor I put
into this. Take it with a grain of salt, as I see this as something to be enjoyed and NEVER taken seriously.

Pretty awesome, but I hate how you made Glenn talk.

I lost interest as soon as I heard Black Mages music being used. If you're going to commit copyright infringement, at least  have the taste to not mix it into an already gray-area work.

I always wonder when rom hackers say that violating intellectual property rights is wrong or that it isn't right to modify or make your own version of someone else' rom hacking project.  I mean really, isn't that like the definition of hypocrisy?

I totally agree.
It IS the very definition of hypocrisy, yes.
Kinda ticks me off, too. >=(

This has more than a few rough edges, but it looks really nice in the end. Keep up the good work with that playable Grenn/Glenn.

What's up with all the duplicate topics?

Hrm.. where to start...?

I'm not going to post links to where you can DL the ROM and what not.

The music tracks I'm using have not been released with a package with the Chrono Trigger MusiCompanion.

There are several main points to that footage...

1) Playable Glenn is complete

2) The techniques learned in making Glenn happen will pave the way for further Character modifications in CT hacks, specifically the '8th character' mod that I know of a few people are working on.

We had to use the extra space gained from expanding the rom, and moving Glenn's sprites into that area. The Frog sprites are still contained within the game, we just changed the pointers to the location of Glenn's sprites, and then laid the SA over Glenn's SA, we also had to tweak a few things in the main CT hex to allow it to load the sprites from what is normally an 'out of memory location'- 470000 range.

I am going to make this mod (The Glenn portion) freely available soon.

Two things. You need to make Glenn speak like a normal person, and if you're going to use enhanced music, make it Chrono Trigger music only. You shouldn't be including FF music.

I'm sorry, did I give you the impression I was a ROM hacker?

It's a gray area, plain and simple. (Some could argue that it's clearly illegal, but that's neither here nor there, since using copyrighted music is definitely illegal.)

I'm cool with Glenn talking how he is, though I don't like it.  But if there was any criticism it sounds more like fanfic speak than actual Middle-English or whatever he's supposed to be speaking... (though, that's a funny thing, considering there is no proper spelling structure for Middle-English).  It sounds more like it's made to sound correct than is correct :/

It's all gray area, which is why I stopped paying attention--most of the time it's an entirely irrelevant thought compared to the rest of the romhacking hobby and process.  It's just something extra we bring to it and think about.

I'm interested in how Magus will fit into this.

Have you muted Crono yet or does he still talk? In addition, Glenn does sound pretty silly (not in a haha cute way, but a WTF were you thinking way) and Final Fantasy tracks are really obvious and don't belong in Chrono Trigger.
