I've been wondering what this says, the symbols are on only a few of the FFVI sprites.

Hmm...
"とくしゅ" Tokushuu means "special or unique."

Thanks man.
The special may refer to that it is a special or unique sprite slot that only Terra seems to use?
I wonder why only a few sprites show the Japanese text whereas some are blank? Hmm.

No. Tina has an entirely separate spriteset.

Perhaps it's a spot reserved for a special animation frame that was never used or something of that nature?

I believe its just a small reminder to the person working on the graphics what those tiles might be used for. I've seen similar notes in other games.

This isn't really related except for it's in Japanese and the thread was started by me and I didn't want to make a new topic... however....

Can anyone help me translate "Geryon" from FFIV DS to Japanese and Romaji?
Just the name itself.

Is that how it is from classical literature? The way it's written, I thought it would be pronounced ゲリオン.

This may be somewhat of a big request and I don't expect anyone to accept it, but can someone translate this short page?
http://www9.atwiki.jp/ffbin/pages/26.html

I don't assume it'd take long, it's only a small amount of text.
It's a tutorial on graphics hacking in FFVI.

I'd translate it with BabelFish or Google Translator but it butchers it so much that it's not eligible, this type of thing has to be specific. Tongue
Again, I don't expect anyone to translate it but it's not that much from the look of it.

I'll forever be in your debt! Tongue

Did you forget that you asked for a translation of this before?

I did not forget, but this is more accurate than a text file.
I don't want to sound to needy and selfish because BRPMEXE did a great job, but it's a bit hard to follow because it doesn't show steps like this does.
Again, I don't expect anyone to do it but it'd help everyone who hacks FFVI a tremendous amount.
