Hi.. i think the tactics ogre patch is fake, first of all there isnt any download links on the romhacking webpage..

Second of all, if you download and patch the 1.2 from the official website and patch the 1.2 snes rom, heres a screenshot of what will happen.

There are already multiple English versions of this game on other platforms, so it'll most likely be on the bottom of the to-do list.

Maybe even scrapped altogether...

A. It's in beta testing. B. Only one version in English already. the GBA game is more of a spin-off, IIRC.

Also, Gideon said he'd upload the real patch sometime very soon.

I wonder if it would turn out to be in English if you were to rearrange the font graphics (ie, make it Al Bhed alphabetical rather than English alphabetical).

"Welcome to the tutorial mode. Here, I will"
(Is it bad that I just had to look at the picture twice to see that)

Would Gideon actually throw out such candy at an April Fools Parade?

I'm guessing everything is compressed well enough that it would be quicker to wait for the final release rather than try to work out the codecs.

From Gideon's page:
"..The Al Bhed version contains the full English text, sort of - I just used a different table file to insert it into the rom..."

The patch is really in al bhed. If you do a little asm hack to change the table, you can have this result:

But we will wait for the Gideon's release, of course...

That's cool. I see you can switch the letters around in the table at the top of the patch. Maybe I will do that for fun since I'm stalled on my project anyway. I guess you could also use a data replacing tool like the one with xvi to translate the script from albhed->English to English.

This patch has me floored because I even wrote an Al Bhed Guide for GameFAQs!

Actually, I'm pretty sure that was the guide I used to make my alternate table.
