The Whirlpool was first opened ten years ago today! I was eighteen when it opened, and it only had about a hundred or so patches at the time. Things sure have changed, I guess.
Yeah! Isn't that interesting?

Yeeeeeeeaaaaah! I'd probably celebrate more if the Whirlpool wasn't dead. But yeah, it was always interesting to pop on and read something on there.

I remember I launched a badly done Ys 4 on one of the Whirlpool's birthdays! Also I remember doing a lot of the database work pre-launch. Good times.

I remember The Whirlpool. I visited it on and off for several years before I made it a daily visit about a year before it died completely.

It was where I first found the Fire Emblem 6 translation patch, IIRC. I've gone to it before and it was really pure chance I stumbled there.

Man, I could have sworn I had all those counter milestones archived somewhere. I can't find them for the life of me now, though. That's weird, I remember you joining the site about six months or so later. Good times, though. :) Anyways I was just looking through all my backed-up files and waxing nostalgic over here, sorry guys. |

I don't see a reason to apologize for waxing nostalgia, Spinner. the Whirlpool was pretty important to the translation scene.

Indeed. The Whirlpool was the reason I actually got into the scene. I heard about the new Der Langrisser stuff from there, and found out about D's site, which eventually led to me beta testing for the full release. I also found links to various places to learn how to romhack from there, IIRC. ~DS |

I remember visiting frequently from early on in its lifespan. Even the Attitude Barn was quite memorable in own twisted ways.  |

I'm already getting into the "man" stage of a male human being's life, and all I've done was mess around with Hyrule Magic and do some graphic "hacking" using Tile Layer Pro. And I've been coming to this board for too long. |
