I was poking around in the PS2 Standard Daisenryaku: Lost victory .MDF file trying to locate the text used in the dialog screens and so forth.  There only appears to be one huge file called GAME.HAB (1.5 GB).  Just a quick look shows what appear to be a table of filenames at the beginning of this monster file.

It appears that this is similar to .CDI format used in the Dreamcast.  Does anyone have any tools for breaking up a PS2 .HAB file into its parts and then reassembling it?

Thanks for any help you can provide.  This looks like a good candidate for translation.  The graphics are excellent.

These archives are generally made specifically for the game.
A majority of games I have examined on psx/ps2 are like that.
Although sometimes games can use archives that are quite common that always have the same structure(.AFS for example).

If the archive is custom made for the game, you must figure out the structure and write a extractor and rebuilder.
Ive never heard of a .HAB file before, chances are its a custom archive.
