I had this idea in my head that perhaps it was possible to translate text in images. After searching around the internet i found a few programs similar to what i was looking for but only did it in English (I ended up giving up because it was getting boring) but recently after rewording my keywords i did find a way.

Fistly the site i found was http://appsv.ocrgrid.org/nhocr/

Then from an emulated game i print screened some screens of the game and copied blocks of text from them.

After copying that block of text from the game i cut out the rest of the image so only the block of text was present in paint, i then saved the image of the block of text.

The result from the scan was 「ニのノ‐トに宮前を書廿れたA間は死ぬ」, the mistakes in the texts were likely from the unclear background however, As the text was being scanned it misinterprited part of the background as part of the text so in order to have a clear scan it is required that you clear up the background of the text so it is quite clear what must be scanned.

Once you are sure the text you have matches what is on screen, proceed to put it into an online translator or something and hope you get an understandable tranlation. Of course the translator isn't always gonna get it right so you will either have to guess or something. It's slow it's frustrating but if you don't know japanese then this is probably the only way you are gonna come close to translating your games.

Sure it's a way but take very long... is it not better to extract the text and use a translator??
Anyway, if u want to do it your way, u can save the cleaning part if u use turn the Main BG0 off or the OAM Viewer and take a window screenshot:

True but some games have text written in images not in text form. I was thinking about removing the layers i didn't think it would really work, thanks for showing me.

Interesting approach. Seems very tedious although, you might be able to automate the process. UglyJoe did something similar with the NES: http://www.ximwix.net/boneyard/design19/xb/texthooker.htm
