if by "10" you mean hexadecimal 0x10 (== decimal 16), then yes.  .nes files all have a 16 byte header.

Also, Ys III - Wanderers from Ys is a fun game. Good choice.

I'd say it's generally good practice to indicate when you're using hex, whether with $ or 0x or simply the suffix phrase "in hex". *shrug*

Another thing. That game is detected by checksum as having the error in the header. If you go and hack it, the game will probably still run but you won't be able to use the saving feature. You'll have to edit the header manually or with a header editor.

Yeah, I probably should've chosen an example game where the common "good" ROM had header errors.
But I wrote it for Kitsune's translation. He was like "thanks, but I don't need it because of the dictionary compression already in the game". So to not let it go to waste, I turned it into a tutorial.
