I tried contacting the author of the latest Wily & Light Rockboard translation, but I get no answer.

Anyway, the game apparently has a hidden (and possibly untranslated) credits screen according to this site ( http://www25.atwiki.jp/famicomall/pages/1355.html ). The conditions to get it are to play in the last map in Battle Royale mode and make everyone lose by bankruptcy. I've done that a million times and I still get no credits screen.

So, could anyone with more experience, search the rom with the appropriate tools and see if there really is credits text in the game, if it's in English or Japanese or if that page just full of crap?

Hi rey. Is the credits all you needed? I made a quick table file and found the credits for you here. They look to be mostly in English, though I didn't bother with actually playing the game and trying to access them. I'll leave that to you, the professional. Smiley

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention that this is from the Japanese original. The credits haven't been changed in the 1.1 English version, though the text preceding it was changed. This kind of leads me to believe that the rest of the text on that website has been correctly translated, though I didn't check for certain. The credits actually use a different font from the rest of the game, so it could've been very easily missed by the translators if they didn't actually see this text in-game.

Great, thanks Spinner8!
At least I know it's not fake. However, I haven't found a way to access it yet. That Japanese page says you need to play Battle Royale mode on the last map and make everyone go bankrupt, but I've done that a million times and I get no credits. I've been trying every combination for months now and nothing.

Oh and btw, how do I get that hex editor to show me the text like that? I opened up the rom and all I got was garbled characters.

"Option --> View Text Data as Unicode" or Ctrl+D.

Oh, er, I didn't realize you actually wanted the table file. Here it is.

Yeah, sorry for not mentioning it. I'm not too well versed on these issues.
I usually find the text by opening the rom in notepad, but this one was not the case. I read something about making table files to find the text, I tried it once but maybe I did something wrong because I still saw garbled text.

You won't see text in Notepad unless it was stored in ASCII, which is pretty uncommon in old console games.
