Is there a way to use save states to check romhack changes? I figure there has to be a way I just have missed it as it sucks having to start from the beginning in order to get to a certain point in the game (especially endings) to see if the changes you made are good or not.

Yes, I do it all the time. Save in the room before the part you hacked, or where you can quickly make it reload the data. But, after making a change, you have to reload the ROM. Then load the save state and get to the hacked part, where it should be changed.
