I want to add these face sets (not the gba ones but more based on the snes ones) to the german BoF2 that d4s put together:

I want to do these changes to the English retranslation that Ryusui is doing to create a second patch for the face graphics and I figured that the original german hack was a good place to start. My problem is that I cannot find the tiles in order to edit them. Gemini said that the tiles were compressed. I want to know how to change the tiles and palettes, can anyone please help me?

*facepalm*

Why don't you just ASK HIM if he'd be willing to help you with this? :banghead:

d4s has basically said "Fuck this game." Ryusui had to practically stalk him to get a reply out of him, and got the source code as well as a "I'm bored with hacking this game" message.

Which would have been perfectly OK if he hadn't ignored Ryusui and ran from him for three months!

(For the people that read the BOF2 topic: Yes, I'm still pissed off. When you have an obligation to help somebody, and you want to stop for whatever reason, you don't fucking run away from it. You just tell the person "Sorry, but I gotta quit.")

I'll rephrase: He promised to help. That to me is an obligation.

I.S.T. is correct, d4s is sick of the hack and will most likely not reply to me at all. Actually if I remember correctly he has moved into making homebrew games and given up hacking altogether. d4s is a last alternative for me and not a very good one at that.

Will anyone actually help me instead of going offtopic?

EDIT: *sigh* I guess not.

If they're compressed, you're going to have to learn some assembly, grab a debugger (Geiger's SNES9x), and trace though the code so you can figure out a way to put the new ones in their place... I'm not going to give you a step by step to this rather lengthy process. You're going to have to jump into this yourself and ask some more specific questions. It's going to take some time for sure.

Ouch. I was hoping for a simpler way.
I guess I'll go learn assembly then. Undecided\
